Practice Schedule

The Lanier Aquatics 2009/2010 year round program will begin on August 17th at the Frances Meadows Center. All group placement is based on the coaches’ evaluation of skills, conditioning and readiness. Try-outs for new swimmers will be held Monday through Thursday from August 17th – 27th from 4:00 and 5:00 PM. After that evaluations can be arranged by appointment.

NOVA

This is the entry level for swimmers ages (approximately) 6 – 10 years, with basic swimming skills.  They meet three times a week and the focus is on elementary technique and enjoying the water. Mon., Wed., Fri. 4 – 5 PM - $90 per month

INTERMEDIATE

This group ranges in age from 8 years to early teens.  The basics are constantly emphasized and more conditioning is introduced.  Of the four practices offered each week, it is recommended that swimmers in this group attend at least three. Tues., Thurs., Fri., 4 – 5 PM, Sat 8 – 9 AM - $100 per month

ADVANCED

This level is for swimmers ages 9 years and over with good basic skills that need accelerated training in technique and conditioning.  Of the five practices offered each week, it is recommended that swimmers in this group make at least four. Group One – Mon. – Thurs. 4 – 5:30 PM, Sat. 8 – 9:30 AM, Group Two – Mon. – Thurs. 5:30 – 7 PM, Sat. 8 – 9:30 AM. - $115 per month.

JUNIOR

This group is for swimmers age 11 years and older that have the desire, skills and conditioning to train for the eventual move up to the top training group.  Swimmers in this group should make as many scheduled practices per week as possible. Mon. – Thurs. 5:30 – 7 PM plus 30 min. strength training, Fri.  5 – 7 PM, Sat. 8 – 10 AM. $120 per month.

SENIOR

This is the highest training group offered and is for those swimmers with the desire, skills and conditioning necessary to train at the elite level.  Fourteen years is the usual entry age for this group.  Swimmers in this group should make all scheduled practices. Mon. – Fri. 5 – 7:30 PM, Sat. 8 – 11AM. $130 per month

GOLD GROUP

This group is for high school swimmers that wish to receive the training and coaching necessary in order to participate on their high school swim team during the season. Practices will be held Mon. – Thurs. from 7 – 8 PM. $75 per month

 Other Fees:   Lanier Aquatics and USA Swimming Registration: $85 for first swimmer from family, $75 for second, $70 each additional. Gold group registration is $40.

Frances Meadows Community Center Pool use fees: $60 per swimmer per quarter. Discounts for additional swimmers from same family and for those holding an annual family membership.

                               Meet Entry Fees: Paid by the swimmer.

 Entry Fee Account

There are still some that owe entry fees. Please make sure your account is up to date and that you have enough in the account to cover up-coming meets. Up to now LA has been carrying those that are delinquent but can no longer do that. A statement of your balance is available in the pool office.

Monthly Fee Payment Policy

Here is a reminder of the Lanier Aquatics monthly fee policy: Monthly fees are due by the 10th of each month and can be paid during practice hours at the pool office or by mailing checks to PO Box 1513,Gainesville, Ga., 30503. Statements will only be mailed after the 15th to those not paying by the 10th and a $15 late fee will be added at that time.
